Meditation in general is when you intentionally set aside time to do something that is good for you.  There’s exercise meditation, prayer meditation, music meditation and the list goes on.  One of the most well known types of meditation is mindfulness meditation.

Mindfulness is a full awareness of precisely what is happening in the present without judging or trying to change anything.  Most of us spend a lot of time thinking about the past or worrying about the future.  Mindfulness can actually change the structure of your brain to help you manage stress, anxiety, sleep better and sharpen your concentration.

Headspace is a mindfulness meditation app (www.headspace.com) that is used by employees of Google, LinkedIn, Delta and more.  A research study has shown that completing just 10 sessions of Headspace significantly increased positive moods while reducing negative attitudes.
